Back to the blogosphere

Well ladies and gents… it has been quite some time since I’ve blogged.  2 years to be precise.  I intend to make this blog primarily about my hobbies which include technology and woodworking (for the time being…).  I will eventually migrate this blog to my primary domain name after I get some DNS issues worked out.  I will also be posting about some of the woodworking projects that I’ve completed recently and the projects that I’ve got queued up.  Some of the upcoming posts will include:

  • Toy barn
  • Jewelry box
  • New table saw (at least for me)
  • Loft bed(s)
  • Serving tray
  • Work bench
  • Workshop reorg plans
  • New phone!
  • Vacation
  • My health

For the woodworking projects, I will try to include links to the SketchUp files if I have them available.  I will also be using the widget from LumberJocks to include some pictures of the projects that I post.  Most of the above posts will be in the past tense at this point, but I’ll get caught up at some point and post some more “in-progress” projects.  Not sure what other widgets I will put on at this point, but I’m sure there will be a few.

From a woodworking perspective, I’m fairly new to this hobby but really enjoy it and spend a good majority of my free time thinking, reading, planning or executing my next project.  This hobby has allowed me to break away from the computer for a while, which is a good thing.  I’ve gotten pretty burned out on the technology stuff, but it still keeps me interested, just not so much in my free time.  I work in technology every day and when I get home, I really don’t have a lot of motivation to sit down and bang away at the keyboard.  I’ve also been doing technology consulting for 11 years which is also an area of my life that I’m getting burned out on.  I’ll get into this in more detail in future posts.

I will try to get into a regular posting schedule, which will help me stay focused on blogging.

Thats all for tonight folks.
